Isolating with Triplets During Lockdown

Isolating with Triplets During Lockdown

The first few days of isolating with my triplets were OK. It hadn’t really sunk in that this was going to last for a long time and I was purposefully trying not to think about how difficult it would be with the kids, 24/7, on my own with no plans to break up the day, no visits or help from friends and family etc. We started isolating on March 17th following the advice of our doctor, I have 4-year-old triplets and my two girls have suffered with recurrent chest infections and respiratory issues since they were one and are treated as suspected asthmatic. I had called him to ask his advice after a friend of mine had told me her little boy was meant to isolate for 12 weeks due to respiratory issues and I wasn’t sure if this would apply to us. I haven’t received a letter from the government or NHS confirming they are vulnerable; our doctor just sent a letter to me saying they should be treated as vulnerable and be shielded for 12 weeks as per government advice.

The quad pregnancy. Honest parenting part 2

The quad pregnancy. Honest parenting part 2

Our 12-week scan, to our surprise, showed all four quad babies growing well and so we shared the news of our quad pregnancy with everyone we knew. My social media went into melt down with the volume of messages of love and congratulations we received – although at first, not everyone believed us! Seeing the shock on people’s faces as we told them we were pregnant with quads became sport to us. Even though I was already showing a bump, before we found out, I never for one second thought I was going to have quadruplets.

Three Babies When we arrived home from hospital, the triplets were two weeks old. I remember the feeling of being at home with three babies, left to our own devices, being really strange. Having three babies in the house was surreal and I didn’t really know where to...

Pregnant with triplets – finding out

Our Oxygen Journey

Our Oxygen Journey

NICU Life

NICU LIFE I prepared myself for NICU life as much as I could, after finding out the complications that might happen carrying quadruplets and the added danger of carrying 2 sets of identical babies we knew they would all be spending a fair bit of time in NICU assuming...
